Is 1xBet legal in Kenya?

Yes. According to the licence notice on its site, 1xbet.co.ke is owned and managed by ADVANCED GUILD LIMITED, which holds licences No. 0001232 and No. 0001233, issued on 28 July 2025 by the Betting Control and Licensing Board of the Republic of Kenya.

Kenya is moving from the BCLB to the new Gambling Regulatory Authority (GRA) under the Gambling Control Act, 2025. Licences issued under the old system remain valid on their existing terms until they expire. Our guide to licensed betting in Kenya explains the transition.

Two practical checks:

1. Use the Kenyan site. 1xBet sites for other countries are run by different companies under different licences. As a Kenyan player, register on 1xbet.co.ke or the app downloaded from it.
2. Check the licence notice yourself. It is in the footer of 1xbet.co.ke. If a site calling itself 1xBet does not show it, do not deposit.

How to register

1. Open 1xbet.co.ke or the official app.
2. Choose Registration and sign up with your Kenyan mobile number. You will usually confirm it with an SMS code.
3. Enter your personal details exactly as on your ID. Mismatched names are the most common reason for blocked withdrawals.
4. Set a deposit limit before your first deposit (see responsible gambling below).

You must be 18 or older. Expect an identity check, usually with your national ID, before your first withdrawal. Doing it early avoids delays when you win.

• Deposits. Open the cashier, choose M-Pesa or Airtel Money and enter the amount, then approve the prompt on your phone. What it means in practice. Deposit KES 10,000 and you get the maximum KES 20,000 bonus. To withdraw it, you must place KES 50,000 in qualifying accumulators and play KES 300,000 in 1xGames within 30 days. Half of this "sports" bonus can only be cleared in casino-style games, so if you only bet on football, you cannot release all of it.

You can cancel the bonus before you finish wagering if your balance is higher than the bonus amount: you keep what is left of your deposits, but lose the bonus and any winnings made with it.

Taxes
